Biography

Robert Waddington paints exclusively American subject matter in a precise photo-realistic technique.  His “Americana” paintings may be found in many corporate and private collections, and his work has been featured in a number of significant museum shows.  Waddington earned his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  In New York, he was strongly influenced by the paintings of the Photo-Realists, and at the School of Visual Arts, studied with such notable photo-realists as John Kacere and Noel Mahaffey.  He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and then earned his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania.  Waddington has served on the faculties of the School of Visual Arts, Moore College of Art, the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Ursinus College, Camden County College, and was a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.  He currently teaches at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he offers courses in a variety of specialized, traditional and contemporary painting and drawing classes.
